A friend of mine has a birthday, and I’ve decided to bake her some cake or the party. So I reached for the punch cake (sponge cake which has middle layer soaked in syrup). I also made a chocolate version of that cake, which had middle layer soaked in coffee.
Note for future self: If you think the layer is soaked enough, its still dry. Soak it that much more.
