Cupcakes for a Jubileum

For my grandpa’s birthday, I baked a mix of familiar and new cupcake flavors.

My grandpa had his birthday recently, so I decided to make some cupcakes. It was easier than a full birthday cake, especially since I was baking in my mom’s kitchen with limited tools.
I went with five different flavors—four that I’ve made before and one new one. It ended up being my biggest baking project so far, with over 60 cupcakes in total. Here’s what I made:
- Chocolate base with chocolate and hazelnut whipped cream frosting, topped with a chocolate heart
- Curd base with blueberries, topped with blueberry curd frosting and a fresh blueberry
- Orange base with cream cheese frosting, sprinkled with dried orange peel
- Banana base with simple vanilla whipped cream, topped with a walnut
- Matcha base with matcha whipped cream frosting, sprinkled with matcha powder
